Evie Cat was racing around like it’s spring. Now, though, she’s gone back to bed. She does that.

While I have my morning coffee, she sleeps. I’ve never had a cat that snuggles at night like Evie Cat.

La Ronge has played host to the Don Allen Saskaloppet for more than four decades. After fires swept through the region in 2025 and destroyed 80 per cent of the cross-country ski trails, volunteers had their work cut out for them ensuring the event could go on this winter.

So, last Saturday I submitted my taxes, so that’s done. Finishing that eased my stress levels.

The Cohutta Wilderness Trail Volunteers spent a good bit of time in 2025 working on the Hickory Creek Trail. It is one of my favorite trails, but has been hit hard by storms in the last couple of years.
