@fell to say windows never has an issue maybe misleading, you don't know if windows is having an issue unless it tells you, which i have found windows does NOT.
Are you Just using a cable, is it attached to a Powered Hub? try a shorter cable to test and if no issue, then try the longer one with a powered USB hub. I suspect that will resolve your issue.

Any recommendations for a USB hub for the following setup:
A single 4K monitor with HDMI output to a PC (with its own keyboard and mouse connected) and a DP connection to my work laptop.
Currently i run into a mess of extra cables to have a webcam and keyboard connected through a cheap USB hub to my laptop, then the second port is used for power and the third is for the monitor. But, we use Yubikeys for authentication, which means i have to disconnect my power, to authenticate and then plug the power back in, quite annoying, also i want to streamline it to a more plug and play setup.

Ok, ich konnte meine Maus an dem einen Anschluss nicht mehr laden. Die Maus hing am USB-Hub, wo auch eine Webcam hängt. Auch ohne Webcam ging es nicht.
Maus direkt an dem Anschluss angeschlossen = Läuft
Webcam = Friert nach einiger Zeit ein
An einem anderen Anschluss geht beides ohne Probleme.
Jetzt mal in die Anleitung geschaut und der USB-Anschluss wo es vorher drin war, läuft über ASMedia ASM3142 Chipset und nicht direkt übers Mainboard.
Wo liegt das Prob?
