I didn't get to test it *quite* as thoroughly as I'd hoped but preliminary testing was incredibly positive. It runs #Ableton Live Suite 11 without a hitch, as well as #Pigments and the #Korg #Wavestation plugin, which is pretty much my entire computer setup.
(Note: I went #DAWless *right* around the time Live 11 was released, and while my old computer's inability to run Live 11 well wasn't the reason why, it didn't exactly push me to stick with the DAW-based world.)
It's also interesting to note that none of these tracks have the highly recognizable Korg Wavestation presets, which was released in 1990. But hey, perhaps the synth was released in December.
Anyway, I suspect there was a delay in the way this kind of music was published, and if I were to make a similar list for 1991, the Wavestation would be all over the place.

Tonight I had some pasta and felt like messing with some 90's digital synthesis as well as some probability based scale-degree-offset-whatever melody techniques.
I had also planned to delve into that #Wavestation #app on #IPad and I did that over the past couple nights. I think programming patches won't be bad at all! The app layout is less than intuitive, and the Wavestation is a complex synth, but its pretty simple at the core, then you just stack bits like sonic LEGO -- a lot like #producing, TBH. I spent about an hour making a kind of uninspiring sound, but I feel like now I am ready for when I do it "for real" next time.
I've used it on a couple tracks here and there (it's featured on "Simple Shapes on a Magnetic Medium" from Tales of Etherspace), I just need to spend some more time with it. And if it doesn't scratch the itch by the end of March, and the one I have my eye on (or another one) is available, I'll pull the trigger then.

@openmastering I'm also using @LibraZiK with kind of old PCs (~10 years old) with SSD hard-drives, a scarlett 2i2 or sometimes a crappy internal audio interface. The software that I'm mostly using are #Ardour, #Lmms, #Hydrogen, some #lv2 or free proprietary #vst plugins (sorry). I also have some vintage gears (#D50, #D20 #U220, #Wavestation, #Proteus, #Electribe es1 mk2) and some analog one (#Microbrute, #Neutron).
