Gisteren de laatste “web”-draden in de tipi-pergola gemaakt. Die is nu klaar. De afstand tussen de draden heb ik toch maar wat ruimer gemaakt. Ik zal er toch tussendoor moeten kunnen om die klimmers - die omhoog gaan groeien - terug te halen uit de top

I made this sculpture to sit in the middle of my wisteria (see above). I hadn't named it when I made it (2022), but if the wisteria is "The Kraken", then this would be Andromeda.

It's buff colored, but glazed ceramic with red, white, and black under glaze added in some areas. My wisteria, which I've nicknamed "The Kraken" (not a homage to the hockey team but to its threat to crush our entire house). It's blooming especially hard this year. I love it (it came with the house), but I wouldn't recommend this plant. It needs pruning every 2 weeks for the whole summer, every year, to keep the whips from lashing out at neighboring trees and passers-by. It's more like a vicious pet than a landscape plant.

Viburnum plicatum. The flower of a small tree. In the foreqground a corymb of fertile flowers (tiny and cream coloured) surrounded by infertile flowers, much larger with four asymmetrical white petals. In the background, more flowers in bud, and leaves.Wisteria cultivar. Looking up at the arbour, the background is blue sky and white cloud. The wisteria is hanging down towards us in long racemes of small purple flowers. A couple of inquisitive tendrils are reaching out into the sky.Viola cultivar, pansy. I don't know the name but I thought it sweet. We're looking one flower "in the face" and there are many others around and in the background. The flower is more or less round, with electric blue-violet edges, then a zone of creamy white shading into creamy yellow and a deepo yellow throat with black rays emanating from the center.Weigela florida, old-fashioned weigela. A branch cuts diagonally across the frame, growing from it, many pink tube-and-corolla flowers with prominent white stamens and pistil, and a few new green leaves.
