Two Birkenhackers successfully made a 32x32 LED panel work with #wled on a #esp32 on Tinker Night last Wednesday. Hopefully we can increase the size of the array on the next Tinker Night!
We even used our Macintosh LCIII connected to the internet, to search how to wire it up. Since this machine is not powerful enough to display ads, we were able to work without distraction.
Made a template to make aligning LEDs behind things super easy and then went and did this to the kids Ikea desk.

Working on a fun 3D designed lamp for my uncle. I got some ribbon cable to hide the LED wires but I still need to workout where I want to add the supports and how to route it so it's nearly invisible.

What I like:
👍 #IOT devices that are being sold preflashed with #OpenSource Firmware, so I don't need to open them to flash my own.
What I dislike:
IOT devices that are being advertised as preflashed with #WLED or #Tasmota but with OTA patched out, so after deploying them I find out need to open them up after all to update the firmware or flash eaphome.
(Yes I get the reasoning behind it, just wish they would not hide the fact)

All switches are connected to an #ESP32, which is connected to my #HomeAssistant over #ESPHome. I am just using a binary sensor. Like this I can do this very easily and it is nicer to integrate with lamps etc. The LED-Strip on my mic arm is powered by another ESP32 running #WLED by the way. The ESP gets its power even from the other ESP across the desk.

Epic fail: j'arrive pas à faire un truc qui pourtant me parait tout simple, souder des pauvres câbles à trois points d'un ruban de LEDs. Je suis super mauvais ou je m'y prend avec le mauvais matos ou y a un truc que j'ai raté ?
Bon je retourne bidouiller du software, au moins je me sens moins nul que avec le hardware.

I really wanted to make a WLED version of the overpriced Goovee light bars but I wasn't wild about how difficult it was to construct and the overall diffusion of my design, not to mention the amount of work necessary to make sure it's perfectly straight. This next version will slot together much nicer, be easier to construct and wire, and should have some really nice diffusion effects on both sides!

My BFF wanted to have some light-up eyes for a costume that she's making, specifically ones that would react when she spoke. So I made her this little assembly, which holds some round LED boards a nice distance away from some LED black acrylic. I'm driving them with WLED running on an Adafruit Mini Sparkle Motion board so it can be powered off a battery pack. The built-in mic means she can have her voice-reactive eyes too!
