A map of all the Apollo missions on a full moon picture taken by Dobviews using a Galaxy A14/17.3 Delos lens on a 10" Dobsonian telescope.

All of the corresponding close-up pictures of those landing are from NASA's Lunar Reconnaisance Orbiter.

The bank of 6 shots are all property of NASA LRO / JPL

Enjoy,

On a full disk view of the Moon's near side the locations of the Apollo Missions are mapped out.
At the top right a small darkened oval is the Sea of Crisis. Under it from Right to left are the Sea of Fertility, the Sea of Tranquility (Southern edge is Apollo 11 Landing and Apollo 16 below it within the Highlands which show up brighter than the seas. The Sea of Serenity features Apollo 17 landing site near the top edge joining Tranquility (imagine an ice cream cone shape) with the large oval Sea of Rains (Apollo 15 lies within a darkened area which looks like a W jutting into the Apeninnes Mtns) sprawling out to the left which fades off into the Ocean of Storms taking up most of the left side of the moon.

Below the Sea of Fertility is a small one called the Sea of Nectar, below Serenity is the Sea of Vapors, and Central Bay underneath. To the left of Central Bay is the Known Sea where Apollo 12 and 14 landed under the large Crater Copernicus.

Below Copernicus is the small ovall of the Sea of Moisture below the Ovean of Storms and the Sea of Clouds rests to the right of Moisture below the Known Sea.Amazingly enough even after decades the footprints and rover tracks of the astronauts are still visible as if they were only made last night within the moons regolith.Unmarked full disk of moon.

A Historic Launch: The Saturn V Rocket Takes Flight

Witness the iconic Saturn V rocket, the powerful launch vehicle that propelled the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. This massive rocket, standing at 363 feet tall, lifted off from Kennedy Space Center on July 16, 1969, carrying astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin on their historic journey.

The model was scaled to the Monogram First Lunar Landing model kit, because I happened to have one of the astronaut figures from that laying around. It would have been VERY small, like mini-van sized probably. I was comparing it to narrow-gauge logging and agricultural railroads here on Earth, where things are scaled down. I designed a locomotive and passenger cars too, on paper, but never built them.

Assembled Monogram plastic model kit (originally from the 1960s, frequently reissued, maybe still today, not sure) with a Apollo lunar module on a diorama base, complete with craters and footprints for the two astronauts. Also included were reproductions of the instrument packages left on the Moon. The retroreflector on the middle-right is still useable today to bounce lasers that astronomer's telescopes can detect, and is used to accurately measure the Moon's distance. I used one of the astronauts to scale my boxcar model.
