@Wen I've got about 50 linear metres of #broadbean as a winter crop here, both for #SoilImprover and crop. The ones on better soil are flowering, and yes, yesterday I saw - and heard!! - a very loud white tail #bumblebee feeding among them - #Portugal, but still a rainy 4.5 deg C last night. Rain usually means warmer, so we'll see what that does for them both.
[edit] this is double delightful for me, because last August most of the land was scorched, if not actually burned by a wildfire that scarred about a third of the width of the country, and birds and beneficial insects have been scarce since.
