So tonight I am eating dinner on my toilet seat because my elderly cat is terrified of the thunderstorm outside and needs to be in someplace tiny and safe. I love this little fraidy girl.

If you want to do something, start with the fundamental—help a neighbor get their pets spayed and neutered. Extreme prices and a shortage of vets have contributed significantly to the crisis. I know we all got our own babies fixed, but many of our elderly, fixed-income, and ESL neighbors (who might not have a computer or smartphone) need an assist. There are low-cost clinics or even free mobile spay and neuter events that the neediest neighbors would love to know about. #CatOwner #CatRescue

TIL onions are actually toxic for cats!
Don't worry about my cat, she's fine, but she did steal onions from my plate once and grew a liking to it and I have been rarely known to pass her a piece of fried onion as a treat cause she loves it so much, but then TIL that it's actually toxic for cats and I feel like such a bad owner now... 😢 I am lucky I did no harm yet, but to everyone with a cat: Onions and Garlic -> Bad!

I joined a different instance to start but the one I'm spending most of my time in now is so much more my style with very friendly people with whom I can chat about the things that mean a lot to me (such as #KidLit).
