Première lecture de l'année pour donner le ton.
Pourquoi l'argument "je n'ai rien à cacher" doit être déconstruit.

Verheugd om jullie de allerlaatste foto en post te laten zien en lezen, die ik maak(te) via een Android toestel!

Nu rustig op uitvogelreis, app by app. Wat zijn jullie beste European Alternatives tips? 🔎

@Khrys crazy story... I degoogled 4 months ago and taking back my google photos was a nightmare too. But now I am free. I hope he will do the same.

To my fellow #debigtech people I'm going back and forth between @obsidian, Logseq and @notesnook for my notes app. I have over 450 sermons, meeting notes and random pieces of information all scattered around that I want to bring into one. Each of the mentioned apps have their benefits and draw backs. So what say you Mastodon????

As I continue this journey into retaking my internet data, security and privacy I've done the following
- PC OS : Arch - edit now testing Debian
- Mobile OS: GrapheneOS
- Socials: Mastodon and BlueSky
- Photos: Ente
- Email: Tuta
- Notes: Obsidian
- Storage: Mega
- Office Suite: LibreOffice
- Search: Duck Duck Go
- Browser: Tor / Zen

Can of worms I want to open..... VPNS??? Worth it, pointless, waste of money??!

I'm open to guidance with this journey

Had a fun weekend moving our work computers to Linux (Fedora) and installing FOSS alternatives to the Microsoft and Adobe products we were using. Now time to migrate our email off Google.

Anyone have experience with the online cloud storage Mega? I don't need a ton of storage, they are zero knowledge and e2ee. Their free tier has 20GB which is more than enough for me right now. I'm not looking to self-host just for something that can sync with Linux and Android.

Flashing GrapheneOS to a Pixel Tablet! The irony of attempting to #degoogle and #debigtech is it seems easiest to do buying old Pixel devices.

As I continue my #degoogle and #debigtech my life YouTube has been a difficult one to ditch. I know I can use it without an account or use an app that circumvents ads, but I'm still relying on Google for the service. I've been looking into @peertube, Odysse, and Rumble. What are people's thoughts on these services?

Part Two

- Moved photos from Google Photos to Ente Photos
- Moved my PKM and Notes to Logseq
- Moved from Chome and Google Search to Firefox, Tor and DuckDuckGo
- Just deleted Reddit and started a Lemmy account.

It's been a ride and I'm open to other suggestions and guides.

I've used many "notes" apps for keeping thoughts, projects, lists in the past. Some have been simple others complex, yet they all left me wanting something more. Diving into #foss has brought me to @logseq and it fills my needs. Love the fact it's built aound a daily note.

I've seen some #degoogle posts and the movement seem interesting, yet I have not seen much #deApple, #deMicrosoft, #deMeta, or #deBigtech. Is #deGoogle more encompassing than just trying to ditch G and includes all big data mining tech?

Im having another look at alternatives to and going to try as its small and easy to host and has plugins. Itll be for my own work project management, so little to no collab. Im investigating various r/selfhosted threads for other options. Kanboard gets good feedback here and there.
