Today's fun project is going to be to check out #Penpot, which is supposed to be an #opensource alternative to #Figma.

Which is fine by me, because in my previous internship we used #Trello and that led me to discover the wonderful open source alternative #Taiga.

Tried the new Trello redesign.

A bit slow, would like more calendar integrations than just Google, otherwise excellent.

Everything good about the old design still here ✅
New functionality ✅
Customisable to some extent ✅
Remains information dense, no excess white space ✅

I strongly disagree with some common wisdom in web design and it's genuinely delightful to see a corporate redesign avoid what I see as pitfalls.

Im having another look at alternatives to #trello and going to try #kanboard as its small and easy to host and has plugins. Itll be for my own work project management, so little to no collab. Im investigating various r/selfhosted threads for other options. Kanboard gets good feedback here and there.

Im investigating alternatives to #Trello for personal use, think lll try Kanboard. It suits my needs, is comfortingly minimal, nothing sexified. We need to re-think our software choices and use cases. Get rid of 'if billions of ppl dont use it, it must be crap' mindset.

@oceanhaiyang @tinker I use Gqueues but any task manger will do - or even put a recurring event in your calendar app.

I'm sure there is no shortage of people int he fediverse who will tell you their favorite task manager tools and processes - so no need to take my recommendation!

As #Trello slowly enshittifies itself... Anyone could propose some *simpler* alternatives?

All I want is a customizable "kanban" board with cards that I can move around. With some stuff I can add to a card: a description, a checklist, maybe some URL attached.

That's it! It would be nice to have native apps on macOS/iOS - but even macOS alone would suffice!
