“Gentle Dragon Fires” appeared in Strange Horizons @strangehorizons earlier this year. It’s about a grouchy old lady who decides to claim a birthright at the last possible moment — for her and her world. I collaborated with my mom on the lyrics & ritual because she’s a poet and loves that stuff. We had a blast & made something kinda lovely, I think.
