Poisonous.

EXTINCT.

The last documented sighting of this frog was in 1989. It is not clear why they went extinct.

#Rediscovery of lost #fish species provides a second chance for conservation phys.org/news/2025-11-rediscov

"Researchers have announced the rediscovery of a species of seasonal #killifish in #Bolivia previously thought to be #extinct... Moema claudiae was last seen over 20 years ago in its original locality, in a site now converted to agricultural land... in a recent expedition, researchers located a surviving population in a small, temporary pond within a remnant forest patch surrounded by farms"

Researchers rediscover #weevil believed to be extinct thanks to photos posted online actionnews5.com/2025/12/08/uof cell.com/current-biology/abstr

"The greater chestnut weevil was believed to have gone #extinct with the decline of the #AmericanChestnut tree... a classic example of #coextinction — the loss of dependent species due to the decline of their hosts... This #rediscovery wouldn’t have been possible without volunteers and the digital tools that connect their data to scientists"

🤔 Ah, yet another riveting on why aren't , just on the clearance rack. 🙄 Who knew that was the tragic hero in this melodrama, desperately trying to rise above its supporting role in the opera? 📉 And here we are, still waiting for the sequel to "Economic Growth: The Unending Yawn." 💸

Comments Needed! * Endangered Species Act Alert *

The Trump administration has officially proposed sweeping new rules that would fundamentally weaken the Endangered Species Act.

This is one of the most dangerous attacks on wildlife we have ever seen.

If these rules move forward - they will erase existing protections - and make it almost impossible to safeguard the habitats, plants, and animals need to survive.

The Endangered Species Act works. The ESA brought the bald eagle, Stellar sea lion and gray wolf back from the edge of disappearing forever.

Tell the Trump administration to keep their hands off the ESA!

Please be part of the movement to ensure 1 million comments are submitted by December 22nd.

There are four proposed rules, each with their own federal register submission link, and each needs you to comment.

To submit your comments:
a) Copy the text (Control+C) in each comment below, then
b) click the link in each comment below.
c) find and click the green box "Submit a comment"
d) paste the text into the comment box, and submit.

Since its passage in 1973, this landmark act has prevented the extinction of roughly 300 species — and more than 99% of the species have been saved or are on their way to recovery. This incredible law has also protected millions of acres of forests, mountains, rivers, deserts, beaches, and oceans.

Protect the Endangered Species Act. Do not weaken it.
