I want to be realistic with my reading goal for this month since it seems that the reading slump is not easily going away.

I will focus on finishing the two books I started last month, Women Who Love Too Much and Once Upon A Broken Heart.

If I finish those two books, then I will also try to read One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig. This book is part of a fantasy duology that has been on my tbr since the beginning of my reading journey in May.

I was a little girl reading Valdemar all the way into my teen years, passing around an old copy of The Black Gryphon between friends and leaving notes in the margin. When the Owlmage Trilogy wrapped up, I was left wondering for decades what would happen next as new series would explore the past instead of the future of the world. "What's next for Valdemar?"

When we got the answer with Gryphon in Light, I was an adult, and extremely happy to see so many long-running plot threads and hints coming to fruition. Also, during those years of growing up, my husband and I used to go out to help Misty and Larry fix up the place as they got older and needed people with good knees and backs to handle the heavy lifting.

Which is to say that the answer as to what was next for my favorite childhood series... includes both my husband and me =] Or, at least, characters named after us. Not to mention a couple of trans characters in addition to Valdemar's already very-queer cast.

I am still reading Women Who Love Too Much by Robin Norwood. However, I started to read Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber to give myself a break from some of the more difficult topics in Norwood’s book.

I’ve had this book in my tbr list since last year, but I did not read it sooner because I found out that it was recommended to read the Caraval series first. I will admit that I am not the biggest fan of the Caraval triology. However, I did like the world that the Caraval trilogy set up and wanted to continue to read about the Prince of Hearts.

From the first chapter I was hooked by the Prince of Hearts, and now Evangeline is one of my favorite female characters from the Caraval world.

According to StoryGraph, one of my most read authors is Adalyn Grace.
The Belladonna series by Adalyn Grace is one of my favorite series thus far this year. Her writing style made it so easy for me to lose myself in the world of Belladonna. I really enjoyed all the characters in the series, and I felt like Adalyn Grace did a fantastic job in making the characters have depth.

If you enjoy romatasy books with a bit of mystery, then this series is for you.
