If ' little people' stop doing what they do for the abusers, then the abusers do not win. I love that so many dock workers are doing what should be done by Governments. We need more of this sort of action.

@vkc No disagreeing with those being a useful moderation options but just to seek clarification:
If you restrict posts to followers then surely that stops them being boosted and hence non-followers seeing them, unless one of your followers is really shitty and shares you/your post some other way?
I appreciate this doesn't help if you do want the post to get to the wider #fedverse but suppess replies.
And if someone does harass you, can't you report them and get both your and their instance admin/moderators to block them in future - that would then help to protect other users on the instance?

Turns out the house didn't entirely escape the flood, water ingress in airbricks means some flooring has to come up to allow a machine to be put underneath for 'fogging' (mist that kills of any unpleasant microbes) then a machine that runs for about two weeks to dry it out. Studio and art store has to be emptied, for decontamination, paintings (were away from the flood) have to go to store. Stressful and disruptive. #Flood #Mastodon #fedverse #art #painting

I miss the practical man my late husband was before Alzheimer's got him, Insurance company would have been here, as he took no whatssit from anyone, I've seen him go straight to CEO's (Airlines etc) in ways that I still find astonishing to think of. The H and K project is a project to build a server that can be easily hosted in the basement or in another place in the house. For the basic services set up so far, #yunohost is used with #zola, #sogo and #gotosocial. Next, a #matrix server will be installed. It is currently still unclear whether it will be a full Synapse server, or one of the smaller alternatives. It is important that all data are stored in your own house without using servers of strangers on the Internet (AKA Cloud).

It's cool how #Fedverse stuff means that it didn't really matter which Twitter replacement you're using! Hoping they all connect so I can use Bluesky or Mastodon preferably. I don't really mind which but I'd rather not have to use threads since I don't like it's UI.
