@_jocmp Just spotted your blog post titled "The Guts of a New Machine" and gotta say that I use Capy Reader to read #Feedbin on Android (thank you! Its great!) and recently installed ReadYou and then... quickly uninstalled ReadYou.
#CapyReader just "felt" better. I can't quite place why; it just did. 🤷
Make of that what you will.
The Sunset theme in Capy Reader (left) will match Feedbin's theme (right) in the next version of the app. I reworked it to use the true base color. Previously I had relied on the Material Theme Builder which got it wrong and lightened the color too much.
The latest dev release introduces the "Sunset" theme based on @feedbin's own sepia tone theme. I'm hopeful that this helps personalize the reading experience while still putting the content up front. Let me know what you think!
Feedbin Launches a Browser Extension to Subscribe and Read Later — https://nuclearbits.com/feedbin-launches-a-browser-extension-to-subscribe-and-read-later/
A brand new extension from @feedbin! It's an exciting time to be an RSS user post-Pocket shutdown. It feels like there's a lot of potential in the variety of projects springing up in its wake.
are there any desktop rss clients with linux that let you sicko mode with themeing and can sync with feedbin?
Anyone seen a recent comparison of #RSS services? Specifically looking at #Inoreader, #Feedbin, #NewsBlur and #Feedly.
Capy Reader v2025.03.1119-dev includes better tag management, specifically deleting or renaming a tag. This is supported for all account types including Feedbin, FreshRSS, and Miniflux via the Google Reader API integration.
Slowly moving all email newsletters that drop into my inbox over to Feedbin... :pepe_cool:
Either that, or unsubscribing from them. :pepe_knife:
The next version of Capy Reader will include support for viewing Saved Searches for @feedbin.
Do you use saved searches with a native client that allows you to add or update them? Let me know! I'm interested in adding those features in the future.
i really wish there was a better way to get art from bsky into my rss feed.
- bsky accounts all have rss feeds, but they suck in a lot of ways. most notably for this use case, they don't include embedded media.
- there are a lot of sites that generate better rss feeds for bsky, which do include embedded media, but then you're left with the full torrent of replies/reposts/etc you'd expect from an artist trying to build an audience on bsky.
- so, i'd like to filter those feeds to only include posts with media, but none of the bsky rss feed generators i'm aware of support that.
- another option would be to take the full feed into my RSS client, but have rules to automatically mark Read posts without media.. that seems like it should be doable, but i haven't been able to get it working in feedbin.
- on bsky itself, i could build a filtered List of just original posts with media from selected artists. but Lists don't have RSS feeds, and none of the RSS-ifiers i'm aware of can generate RSS feeds for them.
Minor Feedbin RSS Bug?: I used some inline CSS to flip an emoji upside-down in a recent blog post, but it's displaying right side up in Feedbin. Is this a bug? Or is Feedbin intentionally stripping inline CSS `style` declarations out for some reason? https://michaelhans.com/eclecticism/2025/02/18/minor-feedbin-rss-bug
Just came across this fantastic #RSS reader for #Linux. It has a modern UI and syncs with #Feedbin, my RSS service of choice, as well as most others. It’s available as a flatpak, or in AUR for #Arch users (I’m running it on #FedoraSilverblue).
