At the risk of being a bandwagon hopper, I'm on board with #ghostty and our new #zig overlords :}

I actually played around with #ptyxis on #alpinelinux and really liked it, but when I went to try it on #ubuntu, there wasn't a readily available package (there is a nightly flatpak... but it didn't look great).

My friend @me told me to try out #ghostty "frfr" and I did despite normally avoiding hypeware.

Well, I'm a believer. I'm amazed at how native it feels (even more so than gnome-terminal!)

I switched to the Ghostty terminal. I used foot until now, which is both good and really fast. Why switch to Ghostty? Font ligatures and font rendering. Font ligatures work great out of the box and the rendering of fonts on a high-res screen is the best I've seen so far #ghostty #terminal #programming

@emocoder I came across #ghostty only recently looking for a lightweight terminal with ligatures support (what ruled out #alacritty for that purpose). It has indeed very reasonable defaults, is fast and quite stable. Highly recommended! 👻👻

Wrapping up a very cozy and productive evening. Sat with my wife listening to music in front of a digital fireplace while I addressed feedback on my #Ghostty bugfix, and added support for insertion in my text editor engine #libfn. Fönn is already using the latest changes and they're work real well!

This felt like one of those happy moments for sure. My daughter fast asleep while my wife and I were able to have a relaxing evening together; me working on side-project while she was reading. Super cozy!

If I can finish that tonight I plan to track down a bug in @rockorager’s ourio library on macOS, and maybe pick up my OSC22 (mouse pointer shape) support PR in #WezTerm again.

Some terminals like #ghostty support the CSI fixterms which expose full keystroke control to the applications, but if this is not handled properly, users end up spammed with unexpected ansi escape codes. #radare2 now handles shift+return as an alias for "return", but.. should we use it for multiline input maybe? https://github.com/radareorg/radare2/pull/24180

Maybe a particular problem, but ... if you're using #HelixEditor in #Ghostty on MacOS with a German keyboard, it makes sense to map only the left option key to alt in Gostty. That way Helix shortcuts with alt work, and the "special" characters are still accessible through the other option key.

Whey the FUCK alt-right opens a floating terminal in zellij instead of going to the next word? Because ghostty sends ^E on alt-right by default.

The other day, I was on my balcony and I switched my Mac from dark mode to light mode... it is way more readable under the sunlight. I have not switched back. I kinda like it. It's been a few years since last time I used it.

Now I just need to update the #Ghostty color scheme and #Godot... Does anybody know if it is possible to change it automatically based on the system settings? 🤔
