Autumn/Winter garden magic, another Friday at #TipsyHill two samples of local native plants - treasure troves for local bird and insect species. The tall Banksia flowers were traditionally used by local #Kaurna people as sweet treats - they could be soaked in water, releasing the sweet nectar - a ‘local lemonade’ and providing instant energy. Great in a #garden as they flower at this time of year when not much else is happening. The other ‘Native Fuchsia’ or Correa flower - pink/red tubular flower is also great food source for local Honeyeater bird species. #Flowers #Nature #Gardening

Was once conscripted in a civil #war. I survived by being deliberately useless at everything I was told to do. Learned firsthand how terrible and ridiculous war is.

So I think I know a little about being #newhere now, I’ve followed a bunch of #hashtags now which has mad my feed much more interesting. It’s feels like it’s time to take my first attempt to formally introduce myself. I’m a #Pagan from #southaustralia, I live on #kaurna land near the #barossa. I like wine and Gin so living here is quite advantageous for me. I work as an export coordinator and Weighbridge operator for a metal recycling co. And grew up in the country on a very large farm. I love my dogs, my friends and my family both birth and chosen. My interests are very varied due to a love of learning. I tend to lurk and boost the things that interest me. I’m deal fairly well with having had #bipolar with social anxiety for most of my life but it means I’m usually quite cautious about committing to a point of view. So far really enjoying it here it’s like a calm chill post the bird site.
