I was near Northampton when the one-week notice of closures came through this summer. I made haste to get off those central midlands canals.

I made it to my home marina in a week. 4 days later, a nearby lock gate broke. Now my boat is trapped on a short stretch of canal. (90 minutes of #boating, end to end!) The other end is shut due to vandalism of the locks.

We need rain. Lots and lots of rain.

Nachdem wir das #Hausboot fest gemacht hatten, sind wir den #Meelick_Wire_Walkway, einen 4,2 Kilometer (Hin-& zurück-) #Spazierweg, der, unter anderem auf einer #Fußgängerbrücke über das #Wehr, bis zur #Victoria_Lock führt. Daran anschließend sind wir noch etwas weiter gelaufen bis es zu regnen begann, dann ging es erstmal wieder zum trocknen aufs #Boot.

Nach dem #Anlegen und einem
kleinen #Snack an #Bord, machten wir uns auf den #Fußweg in den Ort #Shannon_Habour der zusammen mit dem #Grand_Canal 1830 gegründet wurde. Von hier aus liefen wir den Canal noch ein paar Kilometer weiter, bis Schleuse 34 bevor wir wieder umkehrten.
