Found something in bed with me this morning when I got up.

A square cropped photo of a small mostly black jumping spider. It is a bold jumper. It is in a human hand between the touching pinky and ring finger of the left hand and near the palm. It is facing downward in the photo and it's back towards the camera. It has light brown or tan markings in places and is hairy. It is slightly out of focus.

The 1988 Honda CBR600F Hurricane. This was the second one of these I had bought. It was 20 years old then. Needed a fuel pump and the carbs cleaned to get it running, then I repaired and repainted all the broken plastic. It ran a lot better than the first one. A little small for me but it's not like you're riding one of these for days. Had it a year, maybe two.

A photo of the right side of a motorcycle taken in 2009. It is a sport bike from the late 1980's. It is mostly black with red wheels and red logo on the fuel tank that says 'Hurricane' in a cursive like font sort of. The bottom half of the tank is a metalic silvery blue. The plastics of the bike are matte or satin black. it is parked in the shade under a tree. The back wheel is dirty. The left side of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle.

I got around to watering the tray of plants in the basement and saw some flowers. It was mid-October when I potted up all the volunteer verbena and one Marconi pepper plant. The verbena doesn't mind the cold, the pepper plant is just maintaining life.

A square cropped closeup photo of a cluster of partially blooming verbena flowers. There are about a half dozen open flowers that are a bright violet color. There are dark green leaves of the plant above and beyond the flower cluster.A square cropped closeup photo of a cluster of blooming verbena flowers. They are a bright violet color and some flowers are beyond their prime.A closeup photo of the readout of a digital thermometer that reads "55.2F" (which is 12.8C). It says "THERMO SENSOR" above the display.A square cropped shot of the overwintering plants in the grow tent. They are raised up above the floor about a foot on top of a grid of wire frame cubes. The tray the sit in has 2 square gallon pots with verbena and maybe 1 mystery plant near the back, a larger round pot with a pepper plant in the middle, and another square pot with another verbena in the front. The pepper plant has a few old leaves that are yellowing and some new green leaves that are very small, and at least one blossom.

It seems to currently only have some percussion sounds but I don't know MIDI keyboards so I have learning to do beyond plugging it in and it showing up in Ardour and it actually making sound.

My good deal needed some work. The usb type-b socket was broke off. I by chance saw this odd piece of metal in the box, thought it was nothing related, then I had another thought and saw only hole where there should have been a usb connector.

Find a donor, disassemble both, de-solder and clean up the recipient, solder the 'new' one in, and clean up a little, and reassemble. All done in about an hour.

A square cropped photo showing a disassembled MIDI keyboard and the beat up box it came in. It is an M-Audio Oxygen 49 MKV.The circuit board that has the broken usb socket, and the remaining part of the usb socket that was found inside. The labeling indicates it probably is found in the Oxygent models 25, 49, and 61. It has a power switch and a sustain port along with various inline connectors for ribbon cables. The donor circuit board from a very old epson scanner. The part desired from this in near the upper right corner of the board. There is a blue plastic de-soldering sucker above the board which both are sitting on an old wood surface pulled out from an old wood desk. The keyboard circuit board with the 'new' usb socket soldered in place and partially cleaned.

Sunny and 41F / 5C out before noon and all three hives had bees flying. I even saw a big drone fly back into one hive.

I didn't post this when it first showed up recording the 11 month year here.

To summarize, an absolutely not popular person with less than 500 followers is in the top 1% of mastodon.social users, and even has their own exclusive hashtag apparently (i just looked).

My purpose of creating the hashtag is for people's content that is exclusively on mastodon and nowhere else unless it's an old photo from the past then it might exist elsewhere of course.

A wrapstodon vertical aspect screen shot from a 80% scaled browser window because it's from the web only but formatted for a phone and has to be scrolled to see the whole thing... (edgy alt ellipses) . It shows my most popular post, one of a western skink reptile that was saved from a watery grave, it says I had 227 new followers which is more than double, and it says I had 1,794 new posts which is in the top 1% of mastodon.social users.

The sunset, December 24, 2024.

The sunset sky on December 24, 2024 at 16:11 local time. There's colorful orange-ish clouds and dark hills and mountain, the water in the foreground is rippled from a breeze.

Today's sunset, December 20, 2024.

Taken a few minutes after astronomical sunset and 9 hours 8 minutes and 54 seconds before the solstice.

A wide cropped photo of the December 20, 2024 sunset. There are reddish colored clouds above a mountain top that have streaks from shadows from distant clouds or other mountains. There are horizontal streaks from the center running north, or right, that are brighter than the surrounding clouds. The mountain and hills are covered with snow. The view is over a slightly rippled area of calm of water. The shoreline is dark and some various lights are seen and it and all are reflected in the water.

The sunset with fiery clouds, December 20, 2007.

Not many solstice sunsets in the winter here and anything with colors is rare.

A wide cropped photo of the colorful clouds from the sunset on December 20, 2007, 17 years ago, looking towards the southwest. At the top the clouds are dark gray, then a fiery orange in streaks with some clear sky below and to the left above snow covered hills.

It was a nice sunny day for the hummingbirds but windy and it was 48F / 9C out so a lot of snow melting.

There was a second hummingbird around on Sunday. Maybe a female Anna's.

The Hefeweizen after 10 days in the bottle. It actually tastes like cloves and bananas. The one clear bottle I have is bubbling slightly so it's still carbonating some but this tastes good.

Pilsen light DME used was 755 grams and Bavarian Wheat DME was 3017 grams for more than 8.5 gallons or 32 liters. 1oz / 28g Fuggle and 0.6oz / 17g Czech Saaz hops. SafAle WB-06 yeast.

A square cropped photo of a partially full glass of wheat beer. It is a bit cloudy or hazy and a light amber or golden color. It is illuminated from behind and to the side to get a good representation of that actual color and clarity.

Bottled the moscato wine today. It's been 32 days total and 9 days since I put the final addition in it. A little bit over 21 liters in bottles plus some other. It looks good, taste good, came out about 11% ABV.

A square cropped photo showing 20.5 liters of wine in 19 bottles as viewed inline with the five rows of bottles. The wine is light amber colored, or probably some wine specific color... On the left there are four 1.5 liter bottles, in the middle are twelve 1 liter bottles, and on the right are two 750ml bottles and one 1 liter bottle. All the bottles have swing tops with white caps and red gaskets, some are cork type wine bottles with a metal band added that allows mounting a swing top.A square cropped photo of the wine as viewed from a corner of the arrangement. The wine is very clear.A square cropped closeup photo of one of the 1.5 liter bottles showing the clarity. There are other bottles visible on the right side of the photo. There are reflections in the glass of the bottles that have no labels.
