A honeybee and a bumblebee feeding on mountain mint in my garden. I haven't seen many honeybees this year. The bumblebees are ubiquitous, as always. Now that the hydrangea is in full bloom, I might see more honeybees. #Gardening #Zone5 #MountainMint #Honeybee #Bumblebee #BeesOfMastodon #BloomScrolling

The builder did a wonderful job on this mud and stone home. This is a 2024 home built on a 2023 slender mountain mint stem. Something is maturing safely inside. #pollinators, #wasps, #nativeplants, #minnesota, #mountainmint, #naturalbuilding.

The focus is on a home made nest. The nest is viewed from above. It’s a triple peanut shape attached to a mint stem. Small stones are visible in the matrix. The background is out of focus greenery.

I went to the marsh to take pictures and I forgot... wait for it... my camera! Luckily, I had my tiny backup camera with its macro lens in my purse, so it wasn't a total waste of time. #wildflowers #nature #flowerphotography #naturephotography #photography #swamprosemallow #ironweed #blackeyedSusans #mountainmint #daisies

This is a big fuchsia-colored swamp rose mallow (also known as swamp hibiscus) flower. A big bumblebee is inside, getting some nectar. This tall plant with spiky purple flowers is tall ironweed. It blooms in the late summer/early fall.A few white daisies are scattered among the yellow black eyed Susans. These clusters of small white buds will open to show white to lavender flowers. This is mountain mint.

Another comparison:
May 7, 2022 vs May 7, 2023 (different angles though) #JoePyeWeed #StiffGoldenrod #ShowyGoldenrod #MountainMint

These are now 4 years old and should be bigger but #NorthernIllinois is definitely ahead of last year. (The Showy Goldenrod may be a no show due to human misunderstanding. ☹️) #Zone5b #gardening #NativePlants

The small purple tops of Joe Pye Weed is just starting to come out of the ground. Behind it is the much fuller green leaf base of a stiff goldenrod. There's a smaller tuff of green from the showy goldenrod and the starter stems of the common mint emerging. The Joe Pye Weed is turning green and is bout a foot high. The green leaf base of a stiff goldenrod is flopping in on itself. The stems of the common mint is also at abouta foot high.
