#Amun[a] was a major ancient Egyptian deity who appears as a member of the Hermopolitan Ogdoad. Amun was attested from the #OldKingdom together with his wife Amunet. His

They date from the so-called #OldKingdom (2700-2200 BC) and, according to current research, were located directly on a branch of the #Nile that no longer exists: the #pyramidsofGiza. The authors E. Ghoneim et al. (2024) called it "#Ahramat", and it led along all pyramids down to the #LishtPyramids. My blog article on "X" (former Twitter) specifically also talks about one of my visits in Giza.

Just finished listening to the #audiobook of #Abhorsen, the third #book in the #OldKingdom series by #GarthNix. It's far from the first time I've read it but it's the first time I've listened to the audio (read by #TimCurry) and it just reinforces how much I love these books. 📚😭😍🔔

Also, with all of the amazing fantasy TV and movies that's happening right now, I don't understand why someone hasn't snapped these ones up!

Did you know that the #Egyptian god #Set changed over time. In the #OldKingdom he was a clever trickster who played jokes on other gods. It was only when #Osiris became a popular god in around 1200bc that Set began to be seen as purely evil.

Had a fun and productive happy hour with a friend from my local fantasy book club. We're thinking of co-DMing a #Prole #TTRPG set in the #OldKingdom universe (or another we've read in our club).
