When they know their reports will be made public, referees make them longer, clearer, more informative, and more constructive in suggesting improvements. And btw, reports by women are better in these respects than reports by men.

Since 2021, the editors, reviewers, and authors (including @JeanineFinn !) behind the Journal of Critical Digital Librarianship (JCDL) have attempted to foster community around cultural heritage digital library work through open access and open peer review.
Just finished my @MetaROR journey — two rounds of #OpenPeerReview, valuable feedback, a stronger paper, and finally a journal submission:

The digital infrastructure and brand are there, i have benefited as an author and as an editor from PCI Paleo and I can attest to the high quality and robustness of this platform and process. Being involved doesn’t actually require committing a lot of your time, as it takes years to establish a new journal. At this point it is more about launching it and making it visible, so I am primarily looking for mid-to senior-career collaborators who can help steer publications towards this venue. Especially if you’re in the field of #EnvironmentalScience, #Tectonics, #Petrology, #Mineralogy, #PhysicalGeography, #Hydrogeology, #EarthSystemScience and #Climate you are most welcome as these fields are underrepresented in my network. Detalle en RIBES: vamos a empezar a publicar los resultados de las revisiones de los papers. Hemos desarrollado un pequeño script en javascript con un poco de css para que el documento de revisiones aparezca como galerada diferenciada de las demás. El documento lo subimos como un pdf:
