#OpenOffice sind die Reste die quasi unmaintained vor sich hin gammeln nachdem #Oracle alle Mitglieder vergrault und diese zum #LibreOffice - #Fork wechselten und dann selbt kein Bock mehr hatte...

I am in an internal meeting in #Microsoft with the #Word team, and someone said:

I can. I can imagine a world with #wordperfect, and #OpenOffice and #LibreOffice and #StarOffice and so on ... it was a good world with open standards.
I was not brave enough to say it lol. Many people here.

But there was also a dark past, and still sometimes dubious decisions and investment.

Wir hatten schon vor 25 Jahren Kurse zu #Linux (und wenig später auch #OpenOffice) im Angebot und #FOSS war immer ein Thema.

@lebout2canap oui 🙂 ... mais l'arme absolue qui permet d'échapper à une merdification fatale 💥, c'est le "fork", l'un des meilleurs exemples historiques étant #LibreOffice, qui s'est construit et s'est considérablement développé suite à une scission au sein du projet #OpenOffice. Autre exemple plus récent (il faudra voir ce que ça donne sur le long terme) : #OpenCloud (fork de #OwnCloud). Aussi, on a, #OrganicMaps (fork de #MapsMe).
