I have a couple of #Netbotz 320 from my #ewaste hookup that I am looking to use in my garage, connecting to our #HomeAssistant and the open source #DVR I'll be setting up. It would be cool & helpful to use the video camera feed along with the temp & moisture monitoring/trending.

Dear #mastoadmins, I'd like to improve the current setup using #caddy and #podman #compose. Is anyone using #podman #quadlet with #systemd? Also I understand that having the connection between caddy reverse proxy and mastodon via sockets is very cool and I'd like to give this a try as well.
Systemd is now offering keeping podman quadlet containers up to date by itself. Maybe this one can be leveraged as well.

If you're running any of our firewall scripts, you'll probably want to update them!
They're all now reworked to keep their defined iptables chains attached to the top of the INPUT chain, to make sure default policies don't just override them. At least two of our servers had ended up not actually blocking IPs before this rewrite.

Performed a migration of my biggest client's biggest website to a new server, and the performance improvement is shocking. It's a beast of a #WordPress site.
Old server had MariaDB 5.5 and now we're on MariaDB 11.4. Plugin updates went from like 45 seconds to 2-3 seconds each.
Absolutely incredible. And the migration went pretty smoothly. 😎
My little :gotosocial: server was running short of space, so I thought remote media cache gone too big. Turns out, old server logs were bigger :blobcatroll:

I've just installed OpenCloud, and it's pretty good. A new self hosted open source cloud sync server. It's still lacking features and a bit basic, but the backend is written in Go, and the front in Vue / Typescript, so it's really light and snappy - compared to similar apps written with PHP.

I have it running alongside Nextcloud, and haven't decided yet if I'm replacing it. Though, the reason I went looking for alternatives anyway, is because Nextcloud has been feeling more and more bloated and sluggish.
