Spent the morning at a #knitting #repair class at Close Knit Yarn. I found a merino sock that I'd been sad to retire to the rag bag after I failed to fix the hole in the toe with needle and thread. Now I've learned how to knit a patch that should hold up much better. The yarn is a little thicker than what the sock was made of, but I can't even feel the difference when it's on my foot. I also learned about duplicate stitches to fix holes in larger knitting. Fun!

We're off to our local repair cafe at Buckden Village Hall this morning, lots of people booked in to extend the life of their bikes, electronic devices, clothes and grab a cuppa and a cake at the same time. This is Nat's first time running the event, something she's wanted to do ever since we came across the idea in Devon in 2020.

Finally completed one of my longer standing tech projects.
Had an old laptop where the motherboard was fragged.
Extracted the screen.
Added a controller board and DIY casing and turned it into an external monitor.

Inside a shed. With three windows to look out of. It’s not raining for once.

The shed is almost entirely made from recycled, reused, reclaimed and repaired materials.

Windows fitted on three sides of a shed. One window has a white frame with no glass. A shower screen is leant up against a rectangular water tank in front of a blue shed with green windows. The water tank holds rainwater harvested from the roof. The shower screen is approximately 140 centimetres high and 80 centimetres wide. The screen has two panels and the second panel has a metal handle and slips inside the first panel on runners. The screen will be fitted as an end window and horizontally so that the second screen will effectively become a drop-down window to ventilate the shed.

Today I welcomed this table into my home and I think it's great for several reasons:
- exactly the right size
- fits in perfectly with my 70's/80's/90’s thriftstore look
- sturdy, real wood
- has rounded corners so it hurts less when you bump into it
- nice drawer for my painting brushes
- it was for free (yay!)
- previous owners were happy they didn't have to trash it
