Strictly speaking, that's the EMU, mounted on top of the spacesuit not the spacesuit itself.

Prototype designs for real Mars suits such as the Z-2 don't have any chest displays either.

There's a picture at https://www.nasa.gov/image-article/nasas-z-2-prototype-exploration-suit/ that shows the stark contrast between the movie spacesuit and the actual 2015 prototype designs for a Mars suit.

The later 2019 design is even less like the movie one.
