Mercury and Venus in the evening sky, as seen from the mountains of southern New Mexico.
Mercury is high enough that it stands in the dark blue twilight sky.
Venus is still down low in the bright orange band, close to distant trees.
The first photo was taken with an 85mm lens (APS-C sensor). The second photo was taken 10 minutes later, just before Venus set, and used a 135mm lens.
Minute by minute, the twilight sky changes so much in brightness, colors, and saturation.
