Merry new year. Internet search results in 2026 make me wish my searches would only use pages created before 2024 and the AI deluge of slop..

My only parade so far is this Ublock list:

#Browsers are so frustrating. I've been trying to make myself use #Vivaldi. And it's fine. Truly, it's fine. I don't really like chromium based browsers. I haven't gotten past that. But again, it's fine.

Until I need to use it for a site that has many ads. Then it falls apart. Manifest v3 changes mean that even with #ublock, most of the garbage is there. Back to #Librewolf (or #Zen or other #Firefox based browsers) until #Mozilla #ensloppification renders them unusable.

#uBlock Origin seriously needs to start blocking #Wikipedia nag screens.

You guys are rolling in the dough, and the nag screens are SO FREAKING OVER THE TOP, ALREADY.

#Firefox on #macOS is so trash, I don't understand it at all lol. Depending on how you close the browser, you could end up losing all of your pinned tabs and I can never remember the 'right' way of closing the app. Nuts. #Safari 's good enough for me these days seeing how it's gotten some of the nice extensions we have everywhere else like #Ublock Origin, but not really a viable option until/unless Safari becomes multi-platform.. which is prolly never gon happen cos #Apple hates market share.

do any #open #blocklist for #adguard or #ublock (browser side) have moved to codeberg or anywhere else than github ?

For DNS i use hagezi"s and oisd, that both have link outside of github, and mirror on codeberg (not sure oisd have mirror on codeberg tough, but their website is hosted in EU (last time i checked))

I try to find the same for browser side ads.

This took way too long to find. Blocking the "Sign in with google" on sites via #uBlock custom filter. Add accounts.google.com/gsi/* to the filter and adios stupid Sign in with google popups.

Edit: I tested this with logging into gmail (yeah i know, irony), and it still works fine.

I've had exactly the same experience! Migrated from #MacOS to #Ubuntu #Linux over the summer. #Firefox was the default browser. In my case FF had/has a huge memory leak that was left to fester for over a month. Looked around and switched to the #Vivaldi browser thinking I'd lose #uBlock--but (pleasant surprise!) there was no limitation on that or any other plug-in I have. 🙂

So far (less than a month) I'm very impressed and happy with Vivaldi. Recommended! 👍

Heureusement que #ublock permet d'exporter TOUTES les configurations parce que quand sa base sqlite est corrompu, on est bien content de ne pas avoir à se retaper l'application de tous les filtres 😄

Et sur les internets modernes, on doit malheureusement en appliquer, tout un tas de filtre pour espérer surfer un tantinet tranquille.

So i continue to search an anternative outside of US to plug my adblock cache into.

And do not count on Adguard list, they use AWS and Cloudflare extensively so they are just yet another EU washing company, as nothing work without US infra.

i managed to find some "ads and tracking" that my adblock missed, but one slip trough my hand, and i would like to ask someone else, as i fail to see it, it's the "Facebook Ads iframe" the only one my adblock miss and i don't find in my reversing of this script.

if you find a working adblock rules i would be grateful.
