So we do not have to ditch #Firefox completely, just select NO if asked if we want to use #Perplexity. By selecting NO all previous privacy options will remain in tact. I have been using #Kagi search for about 3 months now. I am very happy with it and would recommended it as a #SearchEngine. It's paid, but if you are a heavy internet user like I am it is worth it. I was given a 3 month free trial so my first payment is coming up. I intend to keep it. I have a 100 reasons to stay with Firefox according my customization and so far their breaching of their own previously stated values has yet to compromise my security. Still, it goes without saying it is a shame.

FFmpeg developers aren't satisfied with the new Rust-based rav1d decoder, say that "Rust is so good you can get paid $20k to make it as fast as C":

Canonical, Zerodha, Posit, Sanity, Tideways and other companies join the Open Source Pledge to fund FOSS projects:

(Why would a bunch of for profit corporations support FOSS projects, if not because they want something out of them?)

A Mac-native WebKit browser from Kagi that's more advanced than Safari, slightly cleaner than Arc or Zen, and can run Chromium/Firefox extensions. I may be sticking with this as my main web browser on macOS.

I am in awe of the customization abilities of Vivaldi!
Yet I feel like a spoiled brat. I want more now!
There are features I wish they could implement that other browsers have.
Yet the feature request section is a mess.
"... is a web browser rendering engine written in Rust, with WebGL and WebGPU support, and adaptable to desktop, mobile, and embedded applications."
