As an example of how awful #Windows is for gaming, here is the performance and battery life on the Legion Go S (from the video in previous toot) on #Windows11 and #SteamOS. This is specially impressive if you consider all these games on Linux are running under a compatibility layer (#Proton / #Wine), vs native version on Windows. Imagine these were native #Linux versions using #Vulkan, the difference could be even bigger!

A table showing performance comparison for some games running un the Legion Go S under SteamOS and Windows. Excepting on Spiderman 2 (that achieves 63 FPS on SteamOS and 64 FPS on Windows), all games perform better under SteamOS, most of the time with a healthy margin (e.g. Cyberpunk 59 FPS under Steam OS, and 46 FPS under Windows).

A comparison of battery life on the Legion Go S when running several games under Windows and SteamOS. On high demanding games, like Cyberpunk, battery life on SteamOS is about 25% better. But on low demanding games like Dead Cells, battery life on SteamOS is almost tripled!
