Power outage update: yep, we're still down.

This storm was _badly_ underestimated. Seattle Times reported that we had over 250,000 people out in the region, and our house's power provider, Puget Sound Energy, still has 125K down. Their initial estimate of bringing us back by 1:30am this morning did _not_ happen, and so far they haven't been able to give us a new ETA for restoration. Apparently a lot of the major power transmission lines that carry power to multiple communities were impacted, so they need to bring those back up before they can do the smaller work.

First windstorm of the season has hit the Seattle area tonight and it's a doozy. Nearly 190K out if you tally up the PSE, Seattle City Light, and Snohomish PUD outage numbers.

Murkworks power is _out_ but we still have connectivity, at least enough to talk to the world on social media, though our web and mail servers are down. And because @moira very cleverly bought us some big chonky batteries that can be charged up with _solar panels_, we should be able to maintain temperature in our refrigerator _and_ keep wifi up.

PSE says in theory our power should be restored by 1:30am. We'll see if this actually happens. Fingers crossed.

Well whatever it is I can't find it

which means it was the small-to-medium-size branch I found hit the house in exactly the right way to sound much larger than it is

or it's pretty far away and REALLY big

but nothing tall seems to be missing, so

pse saying 120,000 out and the outages are moving north as peak winds also move north
