activitypub.awakari.com is now playing the "wolf in sheep's clothing" it is no longer following others, but masses of bots are created, which first serve a harmless informative purpose with popular topics, accumulate followers and will probably start "social hacking/engineering" and corresponding manipulation at a later date at the behest of the highest bidder. See #xray for example.

After many users complained about the behavior of awakari-bots at that time and many accounts were blocked and suspended, activitypub.awakari.com changed their behavior in such a way that according to Mastodon guidelines there is no apparent reason to suspend the accounts. However, they are created en masse by activitypub.awakari.com in order to build up as large an instance and presence as possible in the Fediverse and thus represent a certain monetary value for corresponding customers interested in manipulation, social hacking/engineering!

At the moment mastodon staff will not help here so we can only be aware and block the domain activitypub.awakari.com

Also I should mention a "normal" VPN does not work at all. The VPN apps you can find there probably do not use the classical VPN protocol.

We are using a v2rayNG (Android) or V2Box (iPhone), these apps connect to a self hosted VLESS proxy at home in Germany using Xray. There is a docker container if you want to try:

I finally battle tested my BananaPi RPI-R3 with #OpenWRT. After a long time I am configuring weird network staffs (#yggdrasil, #xray and etc) without my beloved #nix. GUI configs sometimes really cosy... before you need something unusual (ALWAYS for me).
I also tried #nixos (bless nixos-sbc), but it's not cool to write #uboot to SD card or ssd. I need to try something like a generic UEFI boot loader on onboard eMMC. Ideally secure boot, but I don't think I have anouth mana for that kind of magic
