The Debian based Window Maker Live Linux distribution.

So I've been enamored of #Next and its retro-cosplay implementation at NEXTSPACE. But it would only build on Linux.
I have a developer release proof of concept working for FreeBSD. Maybe it works for you?

Looks like much ado about nothing to me. There is nothing qualifying as an *explanation*, but rather only claims and complaints.
Seen from the outside, Fosstodon appears to be up and running fine, and i don't see any signs of it being blocked here on mastodon.social either.
Anybody able and willing to provide me a fosstodon.org invite?
Please contact me privately.
EDIT: Thanks! I'm in now!
I have just released version 1.9.0 of the #TLP #Linux #powersaving tool.
Enjoy the brand new #tlp-pd (TLP Profiles Daemon) for easy profile switching with a mouse click!
tlp-pd replaces #power-profiles-daemon by implementing the same D-Bus API that major Linux desktop environments like GNOME, KDE and Cinnamon already use.
TLP 1.9 adds a new profiles daemon and a dedicated power-saver mode, expanding Linux power-management capabilities for laptops.

Just verified the current #wmlive version for arm64 boots just fine on a #PinebookPro, thanks to #towboot enabling UEFI booting. This also includes the graphical Debian installer, so no more fiddling with the serial console.

As Kanye once said of Bush:
Tim Apple doesn’t care about #macdev people.
How I loved Project Builder and interface builder and objective c. But moribund hardware cycles; an Xcode whose cache had a scwarzchild radius, and then the iPhone, etc made it clear what apple’s priority was.
Mac developers should revitalize GNUstep on BSD (or, fine, Linux) and get the NeXT experience that was promised. Yeah it’s creaky and not as nice…but DyeUI sucks and isn’t getting better either; and apple’s not going to make it better. And yeah, maybe you learn Objective-C and learn to manage memory. It’s not too bad. Or hell, port an interface shim.
Better to pin your hopes on something you can touch instead of praying for a millet seed of favor before a big (taped) talk on a video screen in Cupertino.
The current #wmlive distribution based on #Debian / Trixie includes a few custom graphical tools that were relatively easy to create by combining bash shell scripting in combination with the included gtk2 version of #yad.
As an example, this screenshot here shows a graphical frontend for the dpigs command contained in wmlive, and it is actually just a shell script.

More serious comment: What's really great about that #Amiga / #MorphOS community is that there are a lot of software "authors", like, single persons writing serious, usable apps and maintaining them for years.
Yes, sometimes you need to pay for apps - maybe there's a relation? 😉
We'd need way more of that on #Linux, and it's a pity @elementary isn't succeeding offering paid apps on its #AppCenter yet.
It could be the best of what you'd call #artisanalSoftware
Window Maker Live based on Debian/Trixie 13.2 has been released!
For the first time, it is offered for all three architectures i386, amd64, and also arm64.
The source code for the #wmlive build tree has been made available at https://sourceforge.net/projects/wmlive/files/wmlive-trixie-13.2/ to allow custom wmlive builds.
Except for the i386 variant, the soon to be uploaded iso images will be contained in an encrypted 7z archive requiring a password to be unpacked.
Until the password will be made freely available at the end of the year, only supporters who donated will receive the password.
Fellow open source developers with proven contributions may receive the password upon request.
