@sammypanda I dont follow their socials or talk in any forums but war games tend to to attract fascists so I dont really want to and open source spaces aren't immune. I just play with people I trust.
I first noticed it months ago its still there
The settings menu was updated a couple of months ago, you dont have to quit a world to get to the advanced settings anymore and its more navigable.
The whole game still doesn't look pretty but I've learned with FLOSS games to ignore the looks and focus on evaluating gameplay. At least in mineclonia the default texture pack is nice

Well, I had a big recommendation thing written up for #0AD, an open source #RTS with a nearly 25 year long development history, and being the fat fingered Owlbear I am, I deleted it.
So, short version, since I'm too tired and annoyed to type out all that again: it's a great game, and even though it says it's in alpha, it's totally worth playing right now.
It looks great (although the UI is a little… dated and rough), there's just a bunch of content there, and it's got a thriving community. There's also modding and stuff.
So imma go to bed now. Sorry I accidentally deleted my recommendation tonight. It's a shame the Owlbear didn't get a chance to tell you about 0 AD. It's such a great game, and now you won't know about it.

#0ad is really hard I can only beat the very easy bot in the default game mode (conquest) I've never played an rts before but I think I'm getting better

#0ad is possibly one of the most advanced #foss games. It's a multi-platform #RTS historical #game, and there's currently an appimage for #Linux users found at #github (in case #flatpak isn't to your liking).
Plays really smoothly, although it eats my 2015's #Macbook Air's battery (running Linux #Mint) for lunch. We're talking that it has about 30 minutes of overall #gameplay before I need to recharge. CPU utilization is at about 50-60%. @play0ad
@lascapi@jlai.lu I started to use the "Petra advance bot" and the community maps, that's nice.
