So I gave #RNote a try. It looks promising, especially on a #GNOME desktop. But it's nowhere near as feature-rich as #XournalPlusPlus. Of course, RNote is still in its early stages, so that's not surprising. I'll stick with Xournal++ for the time being, but I'll keep an eye on RNote.

I wish Xournal++ had a working android port, with support for webdav backup.
That would be a dream come true for students and researchers.

Als Meister der Prokastrination habe ich gestern - während meine S*S ihr Abi geschrieben haben - natürlich nach einer Alternative für #OneNote geschaut. Ich bin da zwar seit Jahren und bin eigentlich auch zufrieden - aber gucken kostet ja nix. #Obsidian fand ich nicht so, #XournalPlusPlus und #joplin hatte ich schon mal und war eher unterwältigt. Dann hab ich mir mal #notion angeschaut. Und holla, das ist ja die eierlegende Wollmilchsau. Nutzt das jemand im #FediLZ für seinen Unterricht?

I recently bought my first pen tablet because I prefer to jot down notes by hand rather than typing them. Now I'm looking for privacy-friendly open source apps for handwritten notes.

❓ Which apps do you use for your pen tablet?

On my PC, #MrWriter https://unruhschuh.github.io/MrWriter/ and Xournal++ https://xournalpp.github.io/ work fine. #Xournal++ also has an android app.
I had to rule out #Saber because I couldn't find out where my notes are stored and the developer doesn't give high priority to implementing local storage https://github.com/adil192/saber/issues/24
At the moment I'm playing around with #Butterfly https://docs.butterfly.linwood.dev/. It works on my phone, but it doesn't recognise my pen (tablet) on my WIndows pc yet. I hope I can fix this because I like the app.

I just moved from #XournalPlusPlus to #rnote as it is finally available on #postmarketos and #alpine (#aports).
Gotta love the infinite canvas and the ability to import multiple PDF files.
