On Wednesday my glass fiber modem died (only half a year old, thanks Nokia), so I've been enjoying an analog lifestyle since then (well, apart from my phone).

No music, no TV (though we did watch a movie on my kids DVD player over composite video), no laptop or desktop PC, not even much of a smart home.

I must say I rather liked it. Haven't read so much in a long time.

Still, I won't be sad when the new modem is delivered, hopefully, this afternoon. I'll try to keep up the reading though.

"A new Toy for old Men! 😁

Last week I received this analog camcorder as a gift. Today's evening I brought the pretty, 30 years old lady (built 02/95) back to life:

The camera has only been used a few times over the years and I didn't even have to clean the head drum. I just regenerated the grease of the capstan bearing and adjusted the tape transport a bit.

Now I just have to dust it off a bit, then it'll actually be like new again. I'm looking forward to using the camera extensively at the harbor in spring and summer... 🤩😍
