What I've done is set up multiple VMs to test different DEs and make sure the problems are consistent across distros - I perform regular updates and tests against #debian, #fedora and #arch_linux on the latest release or in case of #debian via #sid
In the hope that I can find a stable solution, preferably on #kde, so that I can shift to that DE
My current answer is to stay exactly where I am on #debian #stable (currently #trixie but the previous releases have also been fine with columns in #xfce) and try to be more relaxed about the issue, because it's not that big a concern in the great scheme of things.

Which is really nice! So now I'm closer at getting the right settings for music production.
I still have problems with controlling the Sample Rate, which makes it less smooth in the DAW. This seems to partly be Studio Ones fault (still beta).
Learning this did show me however, that if we want more musicmakers in the Linux environment, we need to make audio settings accessible.

Мне в голову пришла гениальная идея, использовать Alpine Linux на десктопе. Система очень минималистична даже по меркам арча. Я хочу сделать то что я называю COL-системою. Концепция COL значит Chrome OS Like. Я выделил 5 основных свойств:
1. read-only system
2. Атомарные обновления
3. ПО устанавливается в /home
4. ПО устанавливается в контейнеры
5. git подобная система бекапов
Все это присущее многим современным ОС.
Потому в сей концепции хост система должна быть максимально простой и минималистичной. И я не могу найти варианта лучше. Хотя установить его в качестве десктопа довольно трудно.
Изначально я вообще искал дистр без systemd, artix не заводится. С генту идите лесом. Есть Void, но хочу именно openrc.

I've been having #bluetooth audio issues on #arch_linux (crackling during playback.) I've fiddled with pipewire and wireplumber literally for months and finally decided I had to rule out the wifi. Guess what it was? The wifi.
I've got a few IoT devices that need to be on 2.4Ghz and both the router and modem are next to the computer, so I pulled out my unused range extender and put all the 2.4Ghz devices on that with it pointing back to the wireless AP on 5Ghz. The extender is in an adjacent room of course. Problem solved!
