Beautiful, transformative outdoor ritual Sunday morning, making progress on the throat activation piece.

We did not finish, alas, the tattoo had other plans and is calling for more than we imagined.

And yet, with each sitting, I see the transformation. We preceded this session with a ritual to call in ancestor spirits and activate diaphragm (projective), throat, and mouth space, to hone voice but also the awareness of the impact of one's words (which, as a dear friend just wrote in a message, are magick 😉✨).

Veareak Laeung Sak: Third Day of Khmer New Year

Veareak Laeung Sak, the Khmer name for the third day of New Year celebrations, is dedicated to a cleansing ritual involving Buddha statues and the senior family members.

The ritual employs perfumed water and shares the same symbolism as the use of water throughout the New Year festivities: washing away the misdeeds and words of the past year to pave the way for a brighter new year. This act also represents kindness and care, believed to bring happiness, prosperity, longevity, and joy.

For those who may have taken a brief pause from the water fights and talcum powder sprinkling on the second day, the third day offers a chance to rejoin the fun with those who never stopped.

From the afternoon through to the evening, venturing outdoors on wheels becomes almost impossible without being drenched in water and dusted with what remains of the talcum powder.

Starts this Wednesday, April 16
Participants in this series will learn and hone a variety of the skills needed to create a sustaining personal practice as well as craft and lead rituals in a wide variety of settings. In addition, we’ll explore how we can weave magic into secular situations to help create deeper bonds of connection, enhanced solidarity, and the ability to face repression with confidence and courage.

Magic, according to occultist Dion Fortune, is “the art of changing consciousness at will.” That’s a definition that can serve for meditation, personal growth, or political change—and never have we needed magic more!

The tools of magic and ritual can deepen our awareness, enhance our consciousness, create a sense of belonging and help us face together those things that are too hard to face alone. They can help us stay grounded and sane in the midst of chaos, design actions and ceremonies that unite our communities in this time of stress and fear, process our grief and despair, and strengthen our will to create a world of justice and compassion.

Before a #Kambo 🐸 #ceremony, the first thing to do is to drink water 💧. Plenty of it. Between 1 and 2 litres! Occasionally water is replaced by a manioc juice obtained from boiling the roots. It's a medium thick liquid, pretty much tasteless. See the photo attached.

This needs to be taken on an empty stomach, this is the reason why Kambo ceremonies take place in the morning.

This amount of water will make sense later.
