Ongoing plastering work with lime plaster. It already looks much friendlier than grey, doesn’t it? Lime plaster requires patience. So far I applied the plaster in six or seven steps, with plenty of drying time between. Each layer must be applied very thinly no more than 3 mm. So far, I’ve only used the "Rasante di livellamento" and just only a handful of "Cocciopesto". I’ve now finished the bag of the Rasante and ordered new material, but delivery will take about ten more days. I took the opportunity to order some fine plaster with colour pigments as well. It’s expensive, but it will be something special.
I already have a few interesting ideas on how to give it a unique, finely textured appearance something refined and not monotone. I decided not to use stainless steel mesh for plastering. Instead, I applied th highly heat-resistant fibreglass mesh over the closed cracks and the iron and paper material, and it has proven to work well so far.
