Une balade au clair d'Akaroa

La baie d’Akaroa s’ouvre comme un refuge suspendu. Flavien embarque en quête du rare dauphin d’Hector, avec l’espoir de donner voix à l’invisible. Vœu exaucé pour son plus grand plaisir.
Vestiges d’une colonie française contés au musée, des otaries à la forêt Hinawai, tout ici vous parle d’un passé qui se même au présent. Chaque pas, même imparfait est composé de surprises. Lorsque la lumière décline, la nuit révèle ses trésors.
Akaroa devient alors plus qu’un paysage — un chant fragile entre Flavien et la nature.

Au premier plan, on aperçoit un petit promontoire rocheux bordant une eau claire, presque immobile. Fait de bois, il s’avance de la rive jusqu’à la mer, soutenu par des pilotis fins.
Plusieurs voiliers blancs sont ancrés dans la baie, immobiles sur l’eau d’un bleu laiteux. À l’arrière-plan, les collines douces et vertes se déploient sous un ciel bleu vif, parsemé de quelques nuages blancs.
De petites maisons blanches et des bâtiments épars ponctuent le rivage, évoquant un village tranquille au bord de l’eau.
L’atmosphère générale est calme, lumineuse, presque méditative — une impression de sérénité absolue, comme un matin d’été dans un port lointain.

Didn't run yesterday as Amy (the storm) was a bit to wild to venture out in where we were. So today I was all ready to go, while doing the morning emptying of the mutts, Paddy had a massive bout of zoooomies! Which resulted in 22kg of fur at high speed headbutting my left knee. Hard enough for me to go, well that's a limp for a day or two. So therefore no run this AM, but I glad to say that I had some recovery medicine for lunch, burp, which is working a treat, might even recover enough for an afternoon run ;)

Day 12 of our Welsh road trip took us further along the coast, with a quick stop for fish & chips in Pembroke and a restock at the local deli.

From there we headed to Martin’s Head at West Hook and bagged another unreal pitch — sea views straight across the estuary 🌊.

After setting up, we hiked past the coast watch station to the very tip of the landmass. Quiet, dramatic, and beautifully remote.

I spent hours making vegetable Massaman Curry for dinner, only to be told by my other half shortly before it was ready that he had the dentist tomorrow morning.

My first thought was not wishing to inflict 6 cloves of garlic on the dentist.

So, into the fridge it went for tomorrow.

Emergency fish and chips ordered instead.
