The watermelon and honeydew melon bed. The youngest watermelon seedling was thinned to one, the older plants are vining fast, and the center planter with marigolds, fireweed (I think), and a tomato plant is looking good.

A small watermelon plant after it's sibling was pulled from the soil. There is a rooster feather beyond it from the chicken compost.A larger watermelon plant that is vining out in a couple of directions. There is a marigold plant near and far on the edge of the raised hexagon shaped bed and a 35 gallon blue planter beyond to the left and the single small plant previously shown in the distance.A green flesh honeydew melon plant. It is more upright than the watermelon plants and is vining out too.The blue center planter in the hexagon raised bed. It has some fireweed plants, or willowherb, marigolds, and a single tomato plant that has a green stake next to it. There is a row of strawberry plants beyond the raised bed.

The Rudbeckia hirta is starting to bloom.

I noticed in the photo a couple of small beetles too.

A yellow flower with dark center. It has more than a dozen long slender petals that are sort of curled and kinda irregular around the center.

Today is the provincial by-election to replace former #Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson. Tuxedo is an affluent, traditionally safe Conservative seat in southwest #Winnipeg, but the margin has never been tighter than it was in the last election when Wab Kinew (NDP) was elected premier.
