We (14 and I) tapped three #mapletrees in our backyard this year for the first time ever.

This #syrup is the product of one five gallon bucket of sap. It’s been super fun!

(Except for where I drilled a tree and we didn’t think it was producing sap and then we went back and drilled another hole and so now it’s leaking and it is very sad.)

A large ball jar, a mason jar, is sitting on fake granite countertop. It’s filled 1/3 of the way with a golden brownish liquid, it’s maple syrup!

Maple trees are usually tapped between mid-February to mid-March, when temperatures typically reach above zero during the day and below freezing at night, however, this year, the tapping started at the end of January due to warm weather. It is a Canadian tradition, and we have the best syrup!!
