I am pleased to introduce you to the golden equioctagon, a non-regular equilateral convex octagon with four axis of symmetry based on the #GoldenRatio. In the figure you can see the construction, starting from a unit square two segments of size 𝜑 (phi) are drawn, parallel to the sides and centered, so that four points are defined outside the square. Joining those points with the square vertices we get the desired polygon. It has diameters of size 𝜑 and √2. Using it in several sizes related by the golden ratio, interesting constructions can be made, as following posts hopefully show. I have mostly used it rotated 45 degrees for aesthetical reasons.
