Cosmic terminal passwords, how to use them?

I have reverted my version of #pop_os to 22.04, with less difficulty than expected, because:
- the #wayland and #obsstudio dependency hell
- the lack of desktop configuration options (really, I can't have my wallpaper just be original size? It HAS to be stretched?)
- the general bugginess of the desktop (I would click in one window, that had focus, and the click would register in a completely different window).

Unfortunately, for my hardware, #cosmic doesn't seem ready for prime time.

I've been a #nixos / #gnome guy for years now and quite happy there. However, I never want to be ignorant to what else is going on out there, plus keeping my skills sharp.

This holiday break, I've taken a spare laptop and daily driving #pop_OS #cosmic on it to see how it is. I'm a big fan of @system76 as a company as well.

Other than a few bugs and rough edges, it's actually quite nice! Anyone else daily driving cosmic?

My issues are below:

Sadly running it in my #vm is too slow for serious work - but still fun to play with and reinforces my view that #pop_os 24.04 #cosmic will end up being better than both #macos and #kde in terms of aesthetics, flexibility and #usability.

@pop_os_official Ha! Turns out I _can_ use it on my #Mac... kind of. Screenshot shows #pop_os 24.04 running in #vmware fusion on my M1 Air. Not sure if this is a practical proposition but will have a play and see how it performs.

Ich glaube, dass ich soeben eine neue Lieblingsdistribution für den Bereich #Linux-#Gaming gefunden habe.

Nachdem ich mit #pop_os und dem Cosmic-Desktop erst meinem Lieblingslinux #Ubuntu treu geblieben bin, habe ich es eben gerade durch #CachyOS ersetzt und bin aktuell noch ganz begeistert, wir rund das alles laufen kann.

Upgraded to Pop!_OS 24.04 and the Cosmic Desktop on my System76 OryxPro. Very snappy so far, A couple of little things are bugging me: Cosmic terminal has limited color options for text and background, and any desktop icons are duplicated on every screen. I only want them on the main screen. Also, no sound test button in the sound settings applet. #pop_os #linux #COSMICdesktopEnvironment #System76

Povo, como que instala um novo DE no linux? Especificamente, estou no Pop!OS 24.04 e quero instalar o Gnome, pq apesar de lindo o COSMIC, ele não atende algumas necessidades q eu tenho pro trabalho. Mas ao invés de reverter pro 22.04, prefiro só mudar o Desktop Environment enquanto espero o COSMIC ficar mais robusto

hmmm the Pop OS Cosmic update has killed my extensions and I cant set primary monitor.

It seems to have resolved the crackling sound issue in games though. #linux #pop_os
