Ciao, FediMeteo!
In the past few days FediMeteo seemed to be having some performance trouble. I dug into it and only found minor issues, until I realised the VM itself had fallen off a cliff. After several reboots it became clear that both bandwidth and I/O latency had dropped to absurd levels. I suspect the provider slapped a cap on it.
So I took the chance to move everything to another VM and provider, still at 4 euro per month. And starting today, forecasts will be delivered straight from Italy. The performance jump feels like going from a storm to clear skies.
FediMeteo’s mission goes on. More countries are coming (stay tuned!) and we will keep aiming to serve everything from a 4 euro VM. I do have powerful hardware available, but proving that the project can run on tiny resources is still part of the mission.

@itgrrl I recommend SMLight SLZB-06 (no additional characters). It works well with #homeassistant via #zigbee2mqtt and interfaces with several brands like #philipshue. It can be connected via USB or network which makes it very flexible (e.g., if you run #homeassistant in a #vm like #proxmox).

Any Proxmox experts out there? I’ve created a Win11Pro VM, but I’m having problems with Windows Explorer and large file transfers - they just die after 10 seconds or so and eventually I’m told “an unexpected network error occurred”. Same transfer in CMD window with Robocopy /Z option is blazing fast to completion. Any suggestions?
I’ve played with offloading settings but no luck. I’m using Intel server so e1000 for netw bridge device.

I just released #ProxLB 1.1.10 for#Proxmox clusters!
This release mainly focuses on stability and smoother usage, especially for everyone who's still running Proxmox VE 8.x. This update helps avoid a few pitfalls that only show up on PVE 8 and makes the overall experience more predictable.
The release was a bit delayed because I moved everything to a brand-new infrastructure, which now provides more bandwidth for the Docker/Container registry, the Debian repo, and the upcoming runners that will handle automated security-update integration for ProxLB.
Changelog highlights:
• Prevent redundant rebalancing when affinity enforcement is already in place (#335)
• Add a safety-guard for PVE 8 users when enabling conntrack-aware migrations (#359)

Привет, Хабр! Меня зовут Андрей. По основной профессии я инженер-проектировщик, а программирование для меня — это хобби и инструмент, помогающий в работе. Это моя первая публикация, и я хочу представить проект, идея которого родилась после долгих поисков способа динамически подгружать код в работающее устройство на ESP32. Думаю многие проводили изыскания в данном направлении. Всё началось с прикладной задачи, опять же в качестве - а смогу ли? Было разработано и собрано устройство для переключения насосов и управления системой подпитки для индивидуального теплового пункта. Оно подключается к телефону для мониторинга и настройки. В какой-то момент захотелось иметь возможность дополнять его логику новыми схемами управления прямо с телефона, не перекомпилируя и не перепрошивая основное ядро. И понеслась...

Mit WM meinst Du vermutlich eine #vm
Über eine Virtuelle Maschine habe ich auch schon nachgedacht, aber auf einem anderen System mit Ubuntu drauf hat das Implentieren nicht geklappt.
Ggf wäre das eine Alternative? Haupt-Oberfläche Linux, VM ein älteres Windows? (Wie ist es da dann #datenschutz - mäßig?)
