Not bad for a day's work!
Customer wanted their cattle-snooping ML** rig to be waterproof and battery powered, quickly not beautifully.
36V mower battery to two DCDCs to get down to 12V* powering a tiny computer and LIDAR camera. Camera is waterproof, everything else is in a waterproof case. Only one muck-up, and that was recoverable.

Is is so huge lack of #respect, calling someones work (solution) #proofofconcept, even when it is running flawlessly in production for more than one month without need of any hotfix and release.

@Codeberg my problem ain't #scrapers - otherwise I'd #SelfHost my stuff in my own home LAN - but rather #bots flooding #Issues and #PullRequests with garbage.

  • Cuz I do expect #bots to scrape #FLOSS which I permissively licensed...

The problem I dread is once people start abusing their "#AI"#bullshit and #FloodTheZoneWithShit aka. "#AIslop" for no good reason.

  • Kinda like @bagder had to deal with "AI" slop #SecurityReports that didn't even try to show #ProofOfConcept or actually evidence their claims in a scientifically reproduceable fashion but merely wasted lifetime of maintainers!

And @Erpel 's original issue is just that: #spam in the #IssueTracker...

@agx

Got bored and made a #ProofOfConcept #Openid4VCI server…

It piggybacks off of walt.id because I can't get any other wallets/vct to work right now but I have it issuing a VC in dc+sd-jwt format (because imho I think it's the best out of the current proposed standards)

Next steps is to see if I can specify my own custom vct document and see how it handles that…

This will become a lot easier once more wallets become available, apple adds OpenId4VCI support and/or more people create vct docs

The #Pareto principle is being upended by #AI, so that you no longer spend 20% of the time to make 80% of the functionality, as well is it changing the worth of #ProofofConcept implementations. westergaard.site/2025/10/ai-is-disrupting-the-pareto-principle-and-proof-of-concepts/

Maybe this #ProofOfConcept is useful for your, if you do #Jenkins pipeline scripts, but your editor doesn't have a proper plugin to validate these scripts.

A Proof of Concept is not a mini product. It’s a disciplined experiment to answer one sharp question.

In my latest piece, I explain how Java + Quarkus help you run PoCs fast, small, and focuse and why vendors play a role too.

File Encryption with JavaScript.

I've been exploring the #WebCryptoAPI and I'm impressed!

When combined with the #FileSystemAPI, it offers a seemingly secure way to #encrypt and #store files directly on your device. Think #localstorage, but with #encryption!

I know #webapps can have #security vulnerabilities since the code is served over the web, so I've #OpenSourced my demo! You can check it out, and it should even work if #selfhosted on #GitHubPages.
