@peterpur if it was my decision, #SmartHome stuff would've a legally mandated support lifecycle of 25-50+ years and had to be #OpenSourced down to every line of code and the schematics of the PCBs and Chips.

Also I'd mandate #Copyright being voided for any works not distributed and/or licensed new under #FRAND terms, forcing it to be released under #OpenSource terms of #CCBYSA!

@maxitb @jonsagara another #opensource #dotnet project bites the dust. I get it that #opensourced projects where must be funded and sustainable somehow, but that's a terrible news. #fluentassertions and now #mediatr and #automapper 😔 that's just terrible.

Developed as collaboration between IBM & NASA with help from the US DOE's Oak Ridge National Laboratory, 2.3 billion parameter foundation model called #Prithvi WxC was trained on 40yr of observation data from NASA's Modern-Era Retrospective Analysis for Research and Applications, Version 2 (MERRA-2) dataset. They also believe model is particularly well suited to simulating behavior of hurricanes and atmospheric rivers.

I just think that #UEFI as commonly implemented is still a #Bloatware and #CCSS in almost all devices (in fact I know none where the #Firmware is fully #OpenSourced - including @frameworkcomputer 's devices!)...

They claim in a blog post it's for transparency... But imo is this just yet another shitty attempt at saving costs.

Because how can you make improvements to code while saving money? You throw it at the open-source community for free labor, that's how!

Like, if it was any other company, I would believe them trying to be more transparent. But this is #Twitter we're talking about here. They have money issues, Elon fired too many devs and the algo is really shit at its job (I legit got the same tweet of an account I follow 3 times in one scroll (Meaning I didn't refresh or reload the timeline). That's bad) and now all of a sudden it's OS? That's too convenient for a coincidence.
