@alisynthesis Its' an RME RayDAT, when I select the ALSA interface Reaper shows errors about being unable to open the input (presumably because #Pipewire has already grabbed it). I can access it under ALSA by manually typing 'pipewire' in the driver selection in #Reaper but then I only get 2 i/o (out of 32) showing in QPWEGraph and the same gronky aliased noise with buffers <1024

OK, once per drum plugin I guess 😝 Like, I either have to have the exact same MIDI mapping for all drumset plugins - which, yes, would also be a good idea, but since all kits & drum machines don't have the same instrument set it doesn't seem feasible - or I should have a multitrack drum template for each plugin...

It's actually pretty easy to set up though, I'll probably just do it for each as I use them 😁

@nielso @eighty Mine's a relatively old RayDAT - I believe it should work with the old drivers but it's not detected by default (even when I install the ALSA Firmware Loaders package etc), has it been disabled in #Debian or something perhaps?

Current rig is Debian Trixie with the RT kernel it's an i7 7700 with 64gb ram (so should be easily able to cope with 128k buffer.

This is running pipewire and I'm launching #Reaper using 'pw-jack reaper'

This is 13 instances of primer two, composed in #reaper. It’s somewhat inspired by the smooth jazz. I grew up hearing, but sounds like today’s #ambient chill, or at least I hope it does. I learned a lot along the way and hope to keep getting better as I go.

Any #Reaper users out there running on #linux with #RMEAudio drivers (the new ones seeing as the kernel based ones seem to have been broken /taken out since last time I tried linux for #musicproduction ) and managing to get latencies lower than 1024?

I've got a rig sort of running with #debian (13) drivers compiled and running and #pipewire. But it's still pretty finicky and I haven't got anywhere close to trying to make MIDI work yet!

Converted some #Warhammer #AgeOfSigmar Nighthaunt and a #Reaper Demi-Lich to jump-start my #DethWizards warband. Had a blast with these spindly guys. #WarhammerCommunity

Boosts appreciated: I'm a #Reaper user, and I think the latest update broke something. Alt + Shift + Left/Right used to move by grid division. In the midi editor, it only moves by beats now, regardless of grid division setting. I heavily depend on the midi editor, so this prevents me from making music entirely. I updated the rendering-functions to include all the recent additions to the rendering-dialog, mostly the post-processing options.

So if you want to script your own render-features, you can do it with Ultraschal API.

Yeah, I have it open so just tried dragging a selection of tracks across from iTunes/Music.app and Reaper gives this helpful dialog. Which when I click "Sequential on a single track" it lines them up just right

Alright. Kontakt 8 is quite a bit different and it's slightly trickier to set up the Reaper guy's template. You now have to do it through Classic View. Fortunately, this guy is on the case.
