We're hopeful that we can take on this #allotment plot.
It is 16.3m x 11.2m, and has been untended for some time.
Among the plants currently growing there is a #RedCurrant bush, and #blackberries, as far as I can tell that's it for edibles.
If we are able to take it on, it will free of part of the little garden we have at home for a #Zen garden.

A much overgrown plot of land, full of wild plants, some are flowering.

"Thanks for the redcurrants", said the birds.

"What's wrong with those two?", I reply.

"For you", they laugh, "also, we pooped on your car, not sorry."

Part of a redcurrant bush with green leaves. Two red berries remain, the rest have been eaten off, leaving only bare stubs where there once were clusters of them.

First garden harvest of this year! These redcurrants come from a bush that was already here when we bought the house. We need to do some work around where it is planted and I really hope the bush survives because it seems to really like that spot.

We also planted raspberries and gooseberries, which are also growing fruit despite only having been in the soil for about two months 😄

Made 2/3 of a pot of #redcurrant #jam. Didn't weigh the fruit, amount of sugar was guesswork (actually just the amount of sugar left in the house). We'll see how well it worked once it cools down.
