There used to be some free software that helped with scrubbing audio for animation.
(As in, see where each peak in the audio fell in each frame, usually 24 frames per second). I cant find it anymore (it had a bird name),and I also recall it had been not in development for a few years back in 2010. Yeah,a while ago.

My question is: is there an extension for VLC that fulfills this purpose? Maybe some other software?

Well this was a funky adventure. In case anyone else is bothered by this regression, here's my certain-to-not-get-past-App-Review fix. Works on iOS 17.1 too.
I don't know what they're thinking - it's like they've removed rubber-banding from scrolling. Or finger-tracking pinch-to-zoom. The mind boggles!
